Marine Resin FAQ
Why use vinyl ester resin for boat hulls?
Vinyl ester resin provides superior resistance to hydrolysis compared to polyester. It is often used as a 'skin coat' directly behind the gel coat to create an impermeable barrier against osmotic blistering.
Do your resins meet Lloyd's Register standards?
Yes, our marine grade isophthalic and vinyl ester resins are formulated to meet or exceed Lloyd's Register approval standards for craft construction.
What is the shelf life of marine resin?
Standard shelf life is 6 months when stored below 25°C in a dark, dry place. We can add specific inhibitors for tropical climates to extend stability.
